The aviation industry's use of aircraft to carry out aerial work including fertiliser and chemical spraying has long been a part of the New Zealand agricultural landscape.

 

Requirement:

A valve to turn flow on and off at the spray nozzles that is economical, robust and offered efficient trouble free operation.

CPC Quick Disconnect Couplers used in Cardiovascular assessment

Organisation:

Pulsecor Limited is a New Zealand medical device manufacturer developing the next generation of non-invasive blood pressure and cardiovascular assessment technology that enables better assessment of the health of the heart and arteries.

 

Requirement:

A method of disconnecting the tubing between the monitor & cuff that would meet the ease-of-use hallmark of Pulsecor technology. It had to be simple, intuitive to use and leak free. Pulsecor understand that monitoring in medical situations needs to be hassle free, cost effective, accurate and robust.

Pneumatic Two Handed, No-Tie-Down Safety System used on Veneer Press

Organisation:

Wind Blades Ltd manufacture the wind blades being used at NZ Windfarms wind power generating farm situated in the Tararua ranges near Palmerston North.

 

Requirement:

For safety purposes Wind Blades required a method of ensuring press operators hands were not able to be injured during operation of a pneumatic veneer press. The method required some customising of a pneumatic circuit to accommodate a special feature of the presses function, needed to be compact, easily mountable and dependable in operation.

High Pressure Solenoid Valve used on Hydro Power Station Turbine

Organisation:

The Mangahao Hydro Station jointly owned by Todd Energy & King Country Energy and one of New Zealand’s oldest large power stations.

 

Requirement:

Mangahao had to replace an 18 year old solenoid valve that supplied water to a sealing ring on one of the turbines. The replacement valve needed to be 3 port, 2 position, accept 120V DC and an operating pressure of 30 bar.
